From wrap dress to top & a much needed date night

March 12, 2021

Mom and dad finally got a night out!

Honestly, I wasn’t sure it was ever going to happen. The world completely shutdown or went into “quarantine” the day Ella was born. And since we don’t live very close to family, breaks are pretty much…. non-existent. I’m not complaining. All of our family lives just about two hours away. It’s just a short day trip to see them. But it’s not something that happens that often considering the pandemic. So, a night away, just the two of us, was really looking like it wouldn’t happen.

This whole year was not at all what we imagined, but it’s created a bond between our little family of three that I’m so thankful for.

Mike planned our night out. We had dinner at Ristorante Bartolotta. It’s the perfect date spot. They offer a four-course dinner. Each course is the perfect size with a ton of variety and flavor. The day we went they were featuring their signature Italian, black truffle.

WHAT I WORE:
I’ve been seeing people try this on Instagram , so I gave it a shot! I took this I polka dot wrap dress and turned it into a blouse! Are you loving polka dots right now? I’ve been seeing them everywhere, especially little cheetah polka dots. Here’s a polka dot dress very similar to the one pictured. Here’s another cute one! I love this short sleeve polka dot dress.

Here is the wrap dress worn with some black heels. This is the perfect Easter or wedding guest dress.

Since it’s still freezing here and there’s snow on the ground, I was not feeling a dress for our date night. I easily turned it into a top by simply tucking it into my jeans!

Here are my jeans & Necklace.

I loved the the look. Here are some of my takeaways. I wore mom jeans. I don’t know how this would work with skinny jeans or a dress that has a lot of fabric. This dress is shorter. I just tucked it in and smoothed the fabric in against my legs. With a longer dress I’d recommend trying to fold to tie it instead of or before tucking it in.

Have you ever worn a dress like this? Would you try it? You probably know by now that I’m always looking for ways to make my wardrobe more versatile and wear my pieces more often!

If you try it let me know below!
